Two armed men robbed Columbia Bank in Depoe Bay late Thursday morning, escaping with more than $50,000 before abandoning and burning their getaway car, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Shane W. Gillette, on parole for robbing a bank through its drive-thru window, has admitted to breaking into the Bay County Law Enforcement Center, causing thousands in damage.

Two men are in custody and $50,000 has been recovered after a bank robbery in Depoe Bay, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said. Franco Armando Mereno Jr., 37, of Portland, and Jonathan F. Schwentner,

The Versailles Police Department announced on Facebook that officers responded to a reported bank robbery at 3:25 p.m. The department shared images from the robbery, hoping the community could help identify the person involved. The person reportedly ran from the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash after the robbery.

According to police, someone wearing a mask walked into the American Bank and demanded money. Then, he left in a vehicle and went down Staples Street.
