Each day, we receive many calls through our 101 non-emergency number. People are calling for lots of different reasons – for example, some are reporting criminal damage or anti-social behaviour, some ask us about the law and some report domestic abuse or hate crime. As a force, we assess all the calls and prioritise based on the callers’ need. If you are reporting something like a neighbourhood dispute or bad driving, you may find you have to wait in a queue a little longer to speak to someone.
