Several years ago, I conducted concerts and a recording session with the amazing Dimka Ashkenazy and the Hagen Philharmonic — Peter Maxwell Davies’ Clarinet Concerto (Strathclyde No. 4). We made it, the recording engineer worked on it, and then… waited. Today, the CD finally arrived in my hands. A performance disappears. A recording keeps going.
